Yesterday, Craig, the girls and I went on a hike at the Indian Painted Rocks. This was the first hike we've been on in who knows how long. Just to put it in perspective, Kelsey (almost 5 years old) asked "What is a hike?". Now that's sad... Then she kept calling it a hunt! It's not like we don't get out much, but this was an "official" hike. The girls loved exploring on the trail and looking at all the nature around us. They loved that the river was right next to the trail. Khloe was so enthralled by hearing the frogs that every time she heard one, she would stop on the trail, squat down and say "ribbit" and then try to hop! Next we went to my in-laws new property and had a picnic dinner. There were about 5 or 6 deer about 300 yards from us! We loved watching them while we ate, the girls even got to share their dinner with them, from a distance...we placed their apples under a tree and left them for the deer to eat. The weather was so beautiful yesterday and the whole experience was great! We love having our "family date nights".

Field Trip and a Movie
Kelsey's class had a busy day today. We went to the Fish Hatchery this morning with her class. The fish were pretty amazing, especially when we got to feed them. They almost jumped up out of the water to get the food. The down side was, in the hatchery with the baby fish, they stunk! It was making me nauseous. But it was interesting to see what they do there.
Tonight Kelsey's school had a movie night. We saw "Alvin and the Chipmunks". Kimber and Kelsey had already seen it, but were anxious to see it again. So we called tonight our "family date night". The girls really enjoyed it. They got up and danced to all the songs, it was really cute. Even Khloe danced! I think their favorite part about the whole night was the unlimited supply of popcorn and lemonade! Thank goodness they are in bed now... It was a fun day and night!

Field Trip to the Fire Department
Today Kelsey's class got to get a tour of the fire department and sit in a real fire truck. First the kids got to see a fireman put on his fire clothes and watched him breathe the compressed air. They got to answer questions about 911 and "stop, drop, and roll". Then they got to go on a tour of the fire house. At the end they got to see all the fire trucks and even got to sit in one. It was a lot of fun to see the kids get so excited about it all. The firemen were great with the kids and were very informative. Kelsey had a great time and has told me this evening that when she grows up she wants to be a fire fighter!
Kimber and Khloe are better now! Yay for them and double Yay for mom! Kimber finally went back to school and she had a great day! Khloe is still on antibiotics, but she is doing much better. So far, Mom, Dad and Kelsey haven't gotten it.

Sick Again
Sick Again... Well our week hasn't been all that exciting, except that Kimber was sent home from school for coughing. I made her go to school the next day with cough drops, because it was just a cough. She wanted to go though because she was invited to a birthday party and I told her she could only go to the party if she went to school. She stayed at school all day, but told me later that she spent the afternoon in the nurses office. I asked her why they didn't call me to pick her up, she said she told them not too. (She didn't want to risk not going to the party.) She got to go to the birthday party for an hour. But on Wednesday I took her and Khloe to the doctor and they both have the flu. I thought it was just a bad cough. So Kimber was told to stay home from school for the week (it feels like spring break all over again, ugh). She loves it, cuz she feels pretty good and so she just thinks it's like a Saturday... I do make her do quiet activities, but you can only do that for so long... Khloe is kinda grouchy, she's actually sicker than Kimber and is on antibiotics. We just got over being sick for 3 weeks and yay, we get to do it again. (I sure hope none of the kids at the birthday party or at school get sick - but then again, that's probably where she got it from.) So mommy is on sick duty and hoping that it doesn't last long!

A birthday party...
Kelsey went to her first birthday party for a little boy in her preschool class. She has been so excited for two weeks waiting for the big day. The party was to last 3 hours. When I dropped her off, I gave the mom my phone number in case Kelsey wanted to come home early. I had told Kelsey I was going to do that and that she could call me if she needed to. (I didn't know what to expect from her because afterall, it was her first party.) Well I got a phone call about 20 minutes before the party ended. Kelsey called to ask me to pick her up. When I got there, I asked the mom how everything went. She said it was great, Kelsey did great. She said that Kesley just decided that she was done and wanted me to come get her. Silly girl! She had a lot of fun though, which is the important thing!
Since Kimber is always the one going to birthday parties, she didn't know our little secret. When one of the girls gets to go to a birthday party, I take the other two for ice cream or a shake. Kimber was way excited when she asked where we were going. I told her that I've taken Kelsey and Khloe every time she goes to a birthday party. But I also told her that we don't talk about it in front of the person who got to go to the party, it's our secret... That is why she never knew that we went when she got to go to parties. We love our little secret!

Happy Easter!!!
We had a great Easter despite half of us being sick! Tami was starting to get over a flu/cold thing she'd had going on for a couple of weeks. Craig and Khloe just caught it right before Easter. Kelsey had a touch of it come and go and come and go again. And Kimber was the only healthy one in the family! Khloe got to go on 1 of 4 Easter egg hunts. The first one we went to was a Yokes. Lots of little kids, kinda crazy... Then Kimber and Kelsey got to go to our Primary activity where they got to find some more eggs. They also went to our friends house for a "flash light" egg hunt. They had a blast at that. Then on Easter we went to grandma's, where they got to do an egg hunt inside her house, cuz it was raining outside. All in all, Easter was full of fun for those who were not sick!
